Thorson and Svava

Royal Odes

The following song was performed at the Bardic Competition of the Great Northeastern War in 2004. It was written and performed by Lady Zaneta Gavlinne Angiolieri for their Highnesses, Prince Thorson and Princess Svava, and the Royal Crew that follow them. Audiences should be encouraged to drink the brews they raise high and sing along with the chorus.

The Viking Crew

I knew a Viking in his longship sailing on the sea,
Kidnapped a Viking lady and his consort made her be.
Now they travel all the world, seeking goods of all sorts
That they then distribute through Ponder's Import/Exports.

Chorus:
Ho Ho Ho and raise your brew
To Thorson and Svava and their Viking Crew
Ho Ho Ho and raise your brew
To Thorson and Svava and their Viking Crew

Now news about their travels spread to every town and village
And everyone feared theirs would be the next the crew would pillage.
And gathered they a following, a motley Viking horde
All that they were missing is the Viking hats with horns.

Ho Ho Ho and raise your brew
To Thorson and Svava and their Viking Crew
Ho Ho Ho and raise your brew
To Thorson and Svava and their Viking Crew

On their journey sailed they to a place called Ruantallan
And Thorson got the bright idea that ALL the men he'd challenge.
Oh it was a sight to see, he did quite well we hear
They sent him home with lots of praise and flashy new headgear.

Ho Ho Ho and raise your brew
To Thorson and Svava and their Viking Crew
Ho Ho Ho and raise your brew
To Thorson and Svava and their Viking Crew

Now the Viking pair is known, all across the East
And everywhere you go, in their honor people feast.
So if you want to see the crew landing on your shores
Just give them lots of Sortilege and they'll come back for more.

Ho Ho Ho and raise your brew
To Thorson and Svava and their Viking Crew
Ho Ho Ho and raise your brew
To Thorson and Svava and their Viking Crew
